Vic: Semi trailer stolen

MELBOURNE, Dec 14 AAP - A semi-trailer, laden with Adidas trainers worth hundreds of
thousands of dollars, was stolen from a Melbourne transport yard last night, police said
today.

The Agnosta Transport rig, worth about $45,000, was taken from a yard in northern suburban
Thornbury yard some time before 11.30pm (AEDT).

The theft was reported to police by a truck driver returning to the yard and noticed
a gate chain was cut.

Detectives said the thieves would need a forklift or similar equipment to open the
two containers on the truck.

Police said the truck was a blue RoadBoss prime mover, registered NBV895. One container,
green and white in colour, was labelled EMCU 3088456; the other was orange with black
lettering and labelled HDMU 2309161.

Police have asked anyone who has seen the containers or has been approached with offers
of cheap Adidas sports shoes to contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
