Veldkamp's/1-800-Flowers closed five underperforming free-standing locations in the Denver area as more customers order arrangements over the Internet.
The two remaining stores are on 17th Street downtown and in Lakewood. The company still is considering operating other new stores that would be part of locations that attract "large walk-in business," 1-800-Flowers said in a statement.
Veldkamp's is "embracing the changing consumer behavior influenced by the Web, and the appropriate real estate model to service their customer in today's world," 1-800-Flowers said.
